In this project, I wanted to show how I saw bullying and how I think the word is used. So I decided to make almost a word collage of the words that I think define bullying and then decided to add a little picture of what I imagine bullying feels like or does to a person. I think that out of all of the Studio Habits of mind, the one that I used the most was “I communicate through my work” I say this because the one thing that I really wanted to do with this project was really just that, to communicate through my work to send a message about bullying.
I used or plan on using many elements of art, one of them being line. I say this because I used line when creating the drawing in the middle and the words that cover the paper, I also used texture on the girls hair and I will use value and color when I color the drawing. What I did to create this project, was think of words that could represent bullying and describe it in my own words. So then I wrote down all of those words and drew out the word “Bullying” in bubble letters to show what exactly I was talking about. After that was completed, I looked up images and tried to find a drawing of how I thought bullying feels of does to a person, and after some searching, I found a picture of a girl crying with her head on her knees which I thought was perfect. So I attempted draw the picture only I made a few changes with my drawing. For example, I did not think that I could draw the hair style drawn in the image, so I just drew a simple ponytail instead. I also thought that I could not draw her hands which were showing because of the way her arms were positioned so I moved them in a way that I would not have to draw her hands at all and added clothing that you could see more clearly in my drawing than in the other one. Then, I outlined the the drawing with sharpie and now I am in the middle of coloring the rest of the picture.

I have currently been working on a drawing of Mickey Mouse and his “castle”. That might sound a little odd, but I think that it has turned out very nice, I guess. It took me a very long time to decide what I wanted to do for this project, and I came across the idea that I finally decided on while searching instagram for an idea, but I decided not to carry out with the idea … at least in the beginning. Then I started on a project that I almost completed, but again decided not to do it when I was so close to finishing. Then I came back to my original idea which I finished recently (which I had to start over because I gave up on the original copy), even if the picture shows it without a frame…
Claude Monet was a painter that lived from 1840 to 1926 that created many magnificent paintings over his lifetime of landscapes and nature that have inspired people for years. I think that he is an inspirational artist because he painted very beautiful artwork that shows you what you can really find in nature and how to enjoy it as he did. He also shows you how to enjoy nature the way that he did without speaking a word, which I personally find rather inspirational.
He uses lots of color in his paintings to make his landscapes very unique in a way that really helps you see what he was trying to do and how he accomplished this. He also keeps this color constant in his paintings as well as his common themes of landscaped that are rather beautiful if you ask me. I can't say that I connect with this artist in a special way, I simply enjoy his artwork and wish I could ever create something as beautiful as he has. I only say that I wish I could be as magnificent of a painter as he was because he has used art to tell a story in a way that is so simple anyone could understand, and that is priceless. He also helps people to open up their eyes to the world with art in a way that helps them become a better person in a way that I would say is rather hard to achieve. He helps people see just how wonderful the world really is and that if you open your eyes up to it, you could find something that could allow you to see the world in a whole other light. So in conclusion, I think that Claude Monet is an inspirational artist because his paintings help you to see nature and the outdoors in a way that can help you enjoy it more than than you thought you could. |
